I know that the majority of this book outside of the mystery/crime element is about Kimo struggling with his sexuality, but I was really uncomfortable with the way "fag" and "faggy" was thrown about. He mentions how tense and upset internally he gets when someone else says it around him (not being out yet at this point), but then just pages later mentions how "faggy guys just don't do it for [him]".
Far be it from me to police someone's feelings about their own culture, but I guess it just seemed a bit strange to me.
I'm still holding out for him and Dr. Takayama.
