This was a fantastic portrait of one man's struggle after his partner of fifteen years dies suddenly and alone. The steps toward his new relationship with Adam/Morgan (who he was, what his life was like before) were not difficult to figure out from the start, but the absolute truth of Theo's grief was amazing to read.
It never felt like the author was throwing too much or too little angst onto her characters, everything felt supremely realistic; Theo would feel like he's really moving on with his life and then suddenly he would be reminded of his Ben and it would all far apart again. This story doesn't really
end but it leaves us in a very good place with Theo's recovery and closure with Ben's memory.
