I wanted to like this book a lot more than I did. Going into it, I was unaware that it was Christian fiction; now that I know, the overuse of prayer as a deus ex machina (ironically) makes more sense. Still, it seemed an incredibly lazy way to move the plot along. Every time Rose was in danger or in some sort of emotional crisis, a quick word to God somehow relieved her of her pressures in that situation.
The "mystery" of Lady Salomea was transparent at best, in your face obvious at worst. I would place this as a light novel for people who don't like to let reality, good pacing or characterization to get in the way of their spiritual romances.
